Dear Black Man: Choose Peace, Not Just Grind

Dear Black Man,

You are more than your grind.
Yes, we see you chasing the bag, providing, leading, protecting, and hustling. But have you ever paused and asked yourself when was the last time I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe? Or rested without guilt? Or said “nah, I’m good” and meant it?

Black man, your peace matters. Your joy matters. Your silly side, your corny jokes, your random dance moves...yeah, those matter too. The world is already heavy enough, don’t carry it all alone.

Take up space in rooms where you can be loud, soft, goofy, ambitious, and even uncertain. Don’t let anyone trick you into thinking vulnerability is weakness. Truth is, that’s where your power lives.

So today, choose balance. Choose laughter. Choose peace. And when someone asks how you’re doing, give yourself permission to answer honestly, not just “I’m straight.”

We need you whole. We need you joyful. We need you free.
